The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), part of the Department of Transportation (DOT) is the preeminent source of statistics on commercial aviation, multimodal freight activity, and transportation economics, and provides context to decision makers and the public for understanding statistics on transportation.

Virginia Roads was developed to provide user-friendly access to all of the Virginia Department of Transportation's map products and to ensure VDOT’s transparency to the public. It pulls together a variety of VDOT project information in one place for a general public audience, to assist citizens, elected officials, local government partners and others in getting current information quickly and in an easy-to-understand format.
