ENG 350 Young Adult Literature Class Guide

Why Use Discovery?

The library's catalog, Discovery, is a good place to search for book reviews for this class, because the results that will appear will be good, professional-level book reviews. For this class, all you need to do is search for the title (and potentially the author) of the book in order to find book reviews.

You may get a result that is the actual book. To eliminate this result, simply select "Article" in the Format option on the left-hand side of the screen.

As an example, if I search Discovery for ["Long Way Down" "Jason Reynolds"], I get five results, four of which are book reviews, and one is the book itself.

Search

Try to do a search for the title and author of the book you're interested in. If the title has multiple words, put it in "quotation marks" to ensure those words appear together in your search results. So, search for ["Long Way Down"] instead of [Long Way Down].
