Anton's Picks: فلسطين (Palestine)

by Vickie Montigaud-Green on 2021-03-16T13:31:36-04:00 | 0 Comments

Anton Kopti, our circulation assistant, wrote about his idea for this display:
"As a Palestinian international student, I have been feeling like I have not been raising awareness about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. One of the reasons I travelled abroad was to spread the stories of the many silenced by a century old conflict. As I also walk around the shelves on my daily trip around the library to reshelf quarantine books, I pass by books about my country--Palestine--they are all always in relation to a certain conflict or war that happened, this hinders our image as a peace loving, culturally diverse and tradition-rich nation. I therefore decided to suggest a recommended shelf, with all the books that I feel entail an objective and unbiased story to inform my Bridgewater compatriots and raise awareness about the issue. I hope you enjoy my Selection.  --Anton M. Kopti.

A sampling of the selections are listed below.
