In an effort to help students with the cost of textbooks, the Library has purchased several textbooks or required course texts to place on Course Reserves. Some of the items are e-books and some are printed books.
Ebooks:
Textbooks that are ebooks are linked to our library catalog (see box below or Library Home Page). If the ebook is "not available", that means it has been "checked out" or in use by another student. Checkouts are usually for 3-hour increments; so, students should try again a bit later.
Printed books:
Printed textbooks are kept at the FLC main services desk. Items are usually checked out for 3-hour increments. Some items have longer periods, such as 24-hour or 36-hour.
Our service is designed to allow as many students as possible to use these textbooks. It is imperative that students follow the BC honor code and not keep textbooks longer than their 3-hour checkouts. Also, these items are reserved for student use only.
To find out if your textbook is on course reserve, you'll need to search the Catalog (see box below).
This is how you search:
Unfortunately, a search for the professor's name will not yield results. If you have difficulty, the students at the FLC main services desk can help! Stop by and ask.
Below is the search box for our general collections. Also see Advance Search.
